Do Your Provide Catering?

No, The Barn at the Olde Homestead is a venue rental only. We can recommend local caterers, however, you are not restricted to that list of caterers.

Can you recommend vendors in the area?

Yes, we absolutely can! Either view them on our site Here or email us and we will send you a list of our recommended vendors in the area.

What overnight accommodations do you provide?

For accommodations, there are plenty of hotels in the Barboursville Area, which is approximately 7 miles from our venue.

Do you provide rental décor?

Yes, we have many décor items for rent for your special day, from tables, chairs, pews, and centerpieces to signage, cake stands, whiskey barrels, etc. Our hand selected unique pieces will make your wedding picture perfect! We have several custom items perfect for any rustic or vintage setting.

Where do we park and is a shuttle included?

We have multiple areas to park and each area will have a person giving instructions as to where to park and there will be a $150.00 fee for this service. There will be a shuttle service available upon request for an additional fee.

What services does the rental fee include?

A venue manager will be present on the day of the wedding to make sure all equipment is working. The Do-It Yourself fee includes access to the property and Barn starting Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to noon. All other request for service will be specifically customized for your perfect eventes.

We can provide a full Day-Of Coordinator for a separate fee. Email us if you are interested in this service.

Who is responsible for setting up and taking down or cleaning up the décor, and when will it be completed?

Venue renters are responsible for setting up and taking down or cleaning up of the décor. We can offer this service for a fee. You will have minimum 38 hours for your entire rental, including setup and cleanup. Additional hours are available for a fee of $100/hr. Please contact us to make special arrangements to adjust the time frame.

Am I able to visit the venue in person?

Yes, we would love for you to visit the venue in person! Visits are by appointment only. Please email or call (304) 360-4119 us to set up an appointment. We allow one full complementary tour and one pre-wedding walk through to decide on setup, etc.

What is your alcohol policy?

We allow beer, wine, and champagne only with a TIP Certified bartender. You can usually book these separately or with your caterer. All alcohol must be served by a TIP Certified bartender. No cash bar is permitted.

What is the day-of-event insurance and where can I obtain it?

We do carry liability insurance; however, we require all clients to obtain day-of-event insurance to cover themselves and their guests in case of injury or excessive damage to the property. If you don’t know how to obtain this, contact us, and we can provide you with carrier information.

We recommend you contact Main Street Insurance (304-697-4664). Speak with Todd or Kelly and they know exactly what is required.

Can you accommodate physically challenged guests?

The barn itself has no steps to access the main floor. The restroom can have a ramp available upon request and it is equipped with 36 inch doors. However, the loft would be off limits.

Is there a rain backup plan?

Rain is always a possibility. It is your responsibility to make provisions for rain. It is not the responsibility of the venue. We can make recommendations for tent rentals which would be at the expense of the customer. The Barn is always an option to utilize, but all outside decor and rentals are the responsibility of the customer, unless previous provisions have been arranged with the venue.

Can the venue accommodate a DJ or a live band and what time must the music end?

All music must end by 9:00 p.m. during weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends to comply with sound ordinances. We may be able to accommodate a live band, depending on the size of your wedding and the location for the live band. Please contact us about this.
